Achievements
The Naughton Scholarship Award:
 
The Scholarship is awarded to students who go onto study Science related or Engineering courses in third level colleges or universities and who have achieved excellent results in the Leaving Certificate. The scholarship is a very generous bursary with the winner getting €4000 for each year of under-graduate study. The school also benefits from a €1000 prize for its Science Department. The awards are made at a special ceremony in Trinity College.
In 2010 
Pádraig Ó Gallchóir
 became the first student from the school to win the much coveted award. Pádraig achieved A grades in Higher Level Maths, Applied Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. He is studing Mathematical Science in UCD.
In 2013 
Christopher McCooey 
completed his Leaving Cert in Colásite Rís and he also won the scholarship; he matched Pádraig's results in Maths, Applied Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Christopher is studying Engineering in Queen's University, Belfast.
