After the Junior Certificate students have a choice of opting for the traditional Leaving Certificate or Transition Year. Currently the school has two transition year classes and the programme has been very successful in Coláiste Rís. Students choosing to opt for the Leaving Certificate sit down with the guidance counsellor and select the right combination of subjects to fit their own personal needs. We hold evening meetings in the college at which the various options and subjects are presented and explained to parents. This range of subjects is very comprehensive and every effort is made to satisfy all students. These options will be given and fully discussed at the First Year Information Night in May so parents can enable their sons and daughters to make an informed decision.
